How to choose a "Just Right" Book

If students always read a book that is too easy for them they won't grow as a reader. And, if they always try to read a book that is too hard for them they will not comprehend it well and their fluency won't grow.

Every student has a "Just Right" independent reading level. Books that are not too difficult or too easy. When students do their Independent Reading with a Just Right book then they will grow in their reading: comprehension, vocabulary and fluency.
